“The Message! The Music! The Movement! The Change!” – The Brand
“The MMMC” will go down in Birmingham’s entertainment history as the most innovative, and wonderful synthesis of musical and dramatic styles. It will truly capture the imagination.
The stage play set in the 1960’s with the backdrop of the unrest of a segregationist city. The MMMC will feature dramatic depictions of the events that shocked and shaped our country. Then paired with the sincere melodic interpretations of Hymns and Songs from the 1960’s, sung by renowned local artists are the finishing strokes on a theatrical canvass directed by Nashville playwrite and director James Cane. Coupled with a succulent plated dinner catered by local chefs.
The Brand began in Birmingham Alabama on October 24, 2019 at the Metropolitan AME Zion Church lower level. The inaugural event featured the dramatic acting of Nikki Jackson and Wanda Obayinuda and the music of Mahalia Jackson and Sam Cooke. The event was sponsored by The Just Be Reel Foundation, Bessie Bell, Executive Director.
